Located in the southeast of Beijing, the Temple of Heaven was built in 1406 and 1420 under the sovereignty of Emperor Ming Yongle. During the time of Emperor Ming "Jiajing was restored and several separate complexes dedicated to the Earth, Sun and Moon, which is located in northern orderly, east and west of Beijing. The temple has been visited by all the emperors in the history of Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies, to pray to heaven for a better harvest.
Taoist temple architecture is very much based around the symbolism and numerology. All structures of the round temple that symbolizes the sky, while all the axes are square and flat that symbolizes the earth, which is a key factor that illustrates the cultural and religious beliefs. And above all the roofs of the main buildings are covered with blue tiles that represent the sky and the sky and gold elements reflect the color yellow emperor and Buddhism.
The Altar of Heaven (Qiu Yuan Tan), which is one of three main buildings of the complex, where the three platforms is tired of height of 5 meters the marble is white. It is almost impossible to count the number of people visiting the Temple of Heaven a day. It has been a major destination for tourists, especially when it comes to historical and cultural exploration in China.
