A mother bird (sparrow) back to a nest built last year for hatching new babies?
I did not remove a nest built by a Mom Sparrow last season for unspecified reason. Now I'm asking since I remember is still there if the same mother bird returns at the same nest that had been built before or should I remove it and give you room to build another in the same place? Seems to be a safe and quiet place for babies so I'm sure he would like to again this year. Thank you all.
No she will not use the same nest, but perhaps the nest site. The old nest still debris have on their offspring age and she does not want to raise a new litter in it. Remove the nest to give him the option to use the site again if she wants.
