Police say the man jumped around 3:30 pm and fell through a roof of a structure just south of the tower, breaking some irrigation pipes. There was nobody in the area where it landed. It's been a long time since I took physics, but here is an estimate. the terminal velocity of a skydiver is 56 meters per second. Acceleration is 9.8 meters per second. Then, final the first second he was traveling 9.8 m / s, but not really fall that far, but I will assume he did. After about six seconds he was traveling at 58 meters a second and does not accelerate more. 1100 feet is 335 meters. So it took about 9 seconds to reach the ground. Mets dropped one to 9.8 after 2-29 March – 58 4-98 5-147 7-264 6-205 8-323 9-382
