Compendium of quotations says:

On April 26, 1915 Cortrai, Belgium, Lieutenant Rhodes-Moorehouse low over the railroad crossing, which had received the order to attack. He threw his 100 pounds. bomb, but were immediately immersed in a volley of small arms fire from rifles and machine guns in the belfry of the Church Cortrai was seriously wounded by a bullet in his thigh and his plane was also deeply affected. Returning to the Allied lines, he again met heavy fire from the ground and was injured two more times. He managed to get his plane back, and insisted on making his report before being taken to casualty clearing station, where he died the next day.

Victoria Cross, 1914/15 Star, WW1 and WW1 MEDAL VICTORY MEDAL

The medals of Lieutenant William Rhodes-Moorehouse VC B (September 26th, 1887-April 27, 1915). He was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions during World War 1.

Victoria Cross

Introduced as the top award for bravery available to all ranks, to cover all actions since the outbreak of the Crimean War in 1854. A Cruz kick. On the observe a lion gardant statant in the royal crown with the words for their courage in a semi-circular scroll. The Cross is suspended by a ring of seriffed 'V' connected to a suspension bar decorated with laurel leaves. Crimson ribbon

1914/15 STAR

It was awarded to all personnel who served in either theater of war against the enemy in 5 August 1914 and 31 December 1915. A four-pointed crown with crossed swords and a crown of oak leaves, with the royal emblem on the foot and a central scroll 1914-15 enrolled. Watered silk ribbon is red, white and blue.

BRITISH WAR MEDAL

This medal was instituted to record the success of the First World War.The notes uncrowned left-facing the profile of King George V and back, St. George on horseback trampling underfoot the eagle shield of the Central Powers and a skull and crossbones, the emblems of death. Center irrigation tape is orange with black and white stripes on each side and borders of royal blue.

VICTORY MEDAL

This is commonly known as the Allied war medal, because the same basic design and ribbon were adopted thirteen other Allied nations. The observation has the standing figure Victory holding a palm branch in his right hand and extending his left hand. The reverse shows a laurel wreath containing a four-line registration THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION 1914-1919. Tape is a double (rainbow on the edges of indigo and red in the center).
