What is the period before 1914 (WWI)?
I need to know what the time period before the First World War went to school (in the U.S. or the West in general). I know that goes "some time" -1914 -> 1914 – World War I-1918 -> 1918-Roaring 20's-1929. Also, what was this period of time, as in their moral and social standards? They were prudish and conservative? Or what?
1837 to 1901 would be the Victorian era, during the reign of Queen Victoria
