Is there an official list of all the women who won the Croix de Guerre for driving ambulances in World War I?
Obituary of a writer (in 1972) stated that she won the medal, but in a memoir (1942), his son wrote that she stayed in the U.S. during the war. He liked making up stories about herself – but should have been his son, who provided the information. for the obituary.
