Army Quartermaster
The direct commissioning program in the Army Reserve has extended to many branches. What should I choose?
I'm thinking mayor, MP, but a attractive, especially —- because I'm a veteran officer (although I realize military "police" is a different animal). Any suggestions? Combat arms, not many, if any, available. General officer, Quartermaster, Journal of Chemistry, and MP are some options available in the areas of reserve in my region.
The former Army officer here. I do not recommend chemical that has little room for promotion and havnt heard of anyone who liked. mayor is a very good career field if you like logistics, monitoring supply Equiptment and things. MP I think that would be your best option since it has been an agent of police. Yes its a different animal, I was a platoon leader in Iraq MP and have done the convoy escort missions. You may also be in a detainee / Type of work when deploying the prison, the military has been the outsourcing of federal civilian employees and Military Security Post, so the police have become limited functions, but still could do that. Good luck on the committee and I would recommend dirrect MP Branch. It would be much more fun than their other options.
